But here’s the twist: cholesterol is not just a “bad fat.” In fact, without it, the brain wouldn’t work the way it does. Nearly a quarter of the body’s cholesterol lives inside the brain, where it powers memory, learning, and nerve cell communication. The interesting part? Blood cholesterol and brain cholesterol are two very different players, each with its own role in health and disease.
