How to unlock the Healer career in Where Winds Meet

    Published on

The Healer career in Where Winds Meet is a step away from the violent, but fun Wuxia action. It allows you to step into the shoes of legendary Chinese healers such as Hua To, Tan Yunxian, and Bian Que. It’s a system that’s pretty similar to the debate system already in the game, but instead of arguing with someone on ethics and morals, you’re using a card system to battle their inner woes.

A good healer can remove poisons, mend broken bones, and so much more in Where Winds Meet. While sadly, it doesn’t seem like you can mend your own ails, there are options for you, too. Here’s what you need to know about becoming a Healer in Ten Kingdoms Era China.

Unlocking the Healer Career in Where Winds Meet

You can’t unlock the Healer career in Where Winds Meet until you’ve reached level 13. Once you have, go to Mercyheart Town and speak to Mu Ji’an at the location shown below. You can find this quest in your quest logs automatically, so use that to track the location down if you haven’t explored Mercyheart Town yet.

When you arrive, Mu Ji’ian is trying to help someone who is poisoned, and so naturally, you offer to help. The first step will be to go and gather some herbs nearby. Just head to the quest marker ahead and pick three Nightshade and return to Mu Ji’an. Then he’ll want you to make some Hemostatic Powder.

You probably have a pile of these on hand from your adventures already, but in case you don’t, you can craft it. Just go to your inventory, select one of the herbs you have on hand, and click Craft. You’ll see a new tab in your crafting inventory, Brew Medicine. Go there, and craft the Hemostatic Powder for Mu Ji’an.

Interact with him again and turn it in, for the next step in unlocking the Healer career in Where Winds Meet. He’ll ask if you want to help treat the patient, and this is the next step in the path. Activate Wind Sense, hover over the wounded man and press the appropriate button to begin diagnosing his illness.

This one’s easy, and it will be obvious he’s poisoned, but there are more complex illnesses that require a higher level of diagnostic skill before you can uncover the hidden illness that person has. Then start the treatment.

You’ll have ten turns to neutralize the poison by breaking down the Affliction Severity to 0. You also want to make sure you don’t run out of Vital Energy, or you’ll fail. If you hover the cursor over where the Attack icon is, it’ll give you an idea of what the poison’s going to do next.

If you see that the Illness is going to erupt, it will deal damage to your vital energy, and we don’t want that. The tutorial will guide you through this, and again, it’s very similar to the debate system. Ideally, you’ll want to shield yourself when an affliction is on the way, but you can’t overdo it.

You only have a limited amount of Fieryheart to use each turn, and at this point, it’s 3. The number on the cards you’re dealt is how much Fieryheart they use up. You want to balance between dealing Physiotherapy damage, and protecting yourself. This tutorial mission is pretty easy, but they will get more complicated later down the line.

Another handy thing is that you can upgrade your cards/manuals to use in the Healing career in Where Winds Meet, through the Activity Shop, and likely other means as well. It’s likely you can accrue manuals in a few places, but we’re still on the lookout for those. Once you’ve unlocked this system, you can help others in need exactly how you took care of the patient in the above quest.
