After seeing several key players suffer injuries over the last two weeks or so, the Los Angeles Lakers are starting to get a little healthier.
Starting center Deandre Ayton will return to action on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns after missing the Lakers’ last two games with elbow soreness. Austin Reaves will also return after sitting out L.A.’s last three games due to a calf strain.

Luka Doncic (leg contusion), Rui Hachimura (groin soreness) and guard Gabe Vincent (back strain) are still out, but according to head coach JJ Redick, Doncic and Hachimura are day-to-day, which means they could possibly return on Christmas versus the Houston Rockets. Vincent will be looked at on Christmas Day.
Los Angeles has dealt with injuries intermittently so far this season, yet it has managed to put together a 19-8 record. It is currently in fourth place in the Western Conference and is 1.5 games behind the second-place San Antonio Spurs. That is a sign that the team is building a healthy culture and mentality, something it somewhat lacked in the last few seasons, especially before Redick was hired in 2024.
