David Njoku is seeking a new home, announcing on Instagram Monday night that he is not re-signing with the Cleveland Browns.

“Cleveland, first off I love you. These 9 years have been a beautiful journey. I’m … so grateful for all the memories we shared together,” Njoku wrote. “Thank you to The Haslams, Andrew Berry and the whole browns organization for everything!! All my teammates I shared the battle with I’m so grateful for you guys. The time for me to find a new home has come and all I can think of is just the gratefulness in my heart. The city of Cleveland will forever be home❤️ #ChiefOut”

Cleveland will need to forge forward without the former first-round pick. Luckily, they have several tight ends on the roster.

Most notably, there’s Harold Fannin Jr. A third-round pick in 2025, Fannin was one of the few bright spots in the Cleveland offense this past season. Fannin recorded 72 catches for 731 yards and six touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories.

With the hiring of former Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, the Browns look to rejuvenate their offense behind key players like Fannin. This could really be a chance for Fannin to excel, although who will be quarterback is still undetermined, Monken announced earlier this month.

Also on the Cleveland roster are tight ends Black Whiteheart and Brenden Bates. While two tight ends were signed to reserve/future contracts this month, Caden Prieskorn and Sal Cannella.

With the success of Fannin, the Browns likely feel comfortable with him being TE1, but could be interested in adding depth this offseason, either through the draft or free agency.
